Sidney is an unincorporated community located in Comanche County in the U.S. state of Texas. The local community can be as old as the 1870s. It has had a few names before it chose the current one. It was known as Round Mountain or Jimmie's Creek. It has an estimated population of 196. The community had a store in 1870s and a school but nothing of note happened through the first couple of decades of its existence. The community lost a lot of its residents after the Great Depression and World War 2.
