Skidmore is a census-designated place (CDP) in Bee County, Texas, United States. It has a population of 925. The city has about 10.5 square miles and all of it are land. There is a bit more than 300 households in the community and the median income of a family living in Skidmore is $19.440. The town is named for Virginian Samuel Cyle Skidmore, who moved to Texas shortly before the Civil War. The city reached a population of 1.000 when the railroad was built through it in 1914.
