Star is an unincorporated community in Mills County in Central Texas. It has a population of about 85. It has a humid subtropical climate meaning the weather is characterized by relatively high temperatures and evenly distributed precipitation throughout the year. The community was started in the 1880s by Alec Street. The post office was established in 1886 and a school was set up in 1913. Although Star is unincorporated, it does have a post office with the zip code of 76880. The community of Star is served by the Star Independent School District and home to the Star School Tigers.
