The name changed from Lipan School to Little School to Murray’s Store and then was finally renamed as Wall in 1906. The name Wall was after J. M. Wall, a storekeeper who was also the fist postmaster. The first settlers were J. C. and Lou Bell Bunnell who arrived in 1886. In 1906 a post office was granted to the town. Wall served as the trading center for the fertile Lipan Flat region, where cotton and grain are grown. The population was 250 in 1920, 120 in 1930 and 1947, and 200 in 1980 through 2000. Today, Wall is located in southeastern Tom Green County.
