Water Valley is an unincorporated community situated in Tom Green County in Texas. One of the early settlers of the area was Captain William Turner who arrived in 1878. He was the establisher of the Whitbarrow Ranch. The community of Water Valley itself was founded by two men named Glynn and Phelin. Water Valley is set beside U.S Highway 87. As stated by the Handbook of Texas, the town’s population was around 120 residents in the year 2000. The town’s public education system is being provided by the Water Valley Independent School District. Even though the community is unincorporated, it has a post office.
