Wayside is an unincorporated community in Lynn County, in the U.S. state of Texas. It is located at the junction of FM 211 and US 87, north-central of the county. It is one of the six small communities that bear the name Wayside. In its early days, the farmers of the county were productive and stable despite the Great Depression; cotton and grain sorghum were its primary cash crops. When modernization was started in the county, some farmers moved to Wayside. However, they didn’t last long enough to establish the town. The community had been abandoned and it is now noted as a ghost town, having nothing but few ranches and farms all over the area.
