Wichita Falls is a city located in Wichita County in Texas. Wichita Falls is of course the county seat of Wichita County. Some of the first Anglo-American settlers came to the area in the 1860s, and the city was named on the twenty-seventh of September in 1876. That day, there was an auction for the town’s lots. The Forth Worth and Denver City Railway arrived in the area in 1882, and that exact year, Wichita Falls became the county seat. The city’s population grew massively from around 8,200 residents in the 1910s to more than 40,000 in the 1920s. The town’s estimate of population was 104,553 as of the year 2019. Some of the top tourist attractions located in the city are Lucy Park, Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum, and River Band Nature Center.
