Wickett is a town situated in Ward County in Texas. Wickett lies at the intersection of U.S Highway 80 and Farm to Market Road 1219, and just about seven miles west of Monahans which is the county seat. The town of Wickett was founded in 1881, it used to be a station on the Texas and Pacific Railroad. It wasn’t until 1933 when the community was granted a post office. The town’s population peaked in the 1960s when Wickett had just under one thousand residents. The population of the town started diminishing since then and reached the number of 498 residents as of the 2010 census. Wickett has a total area of 0.7 square miles and all of it is land.
