Wildorado is an unincorporated community located in Oldham County in Texas. The town itself was named after a close-by Wildorado Creek. The community of Wildorado was established in the year 1900. The town was founded as a railroad town beside the Chicago, Rock Island and Gulf Railroad. Eugene Binford and John R. Goodman were the first settlers in the area before the year 1900. The town’s post office was actually established in 1904. As stated by the Handbook of Texas, the town has a population of around 180 in the year 2000. The nearest larger city situated near Wildorado is Amarillo which is set twenty miles east.
