Woden is an unincorporated coterie situated in Nacogdoches County in Texas. The area of Nacogdoches County where Woden is now situated was first settled in the 1830s by immigrants from the Old South. The town was called Jacobs back then but it was renamed to King’s Store. Yet again it was renamed to its final form, Woden, named after an Old English god Woden in 1886. Even though the community is unincorporated, the post office still operates today. The community’s public education system is being distributed by the Woden Independent School District. The community had a population of 137 residents as of the year 2000.
