Wolfe City is situated in Hunt County in Texas. The city itself was named after J. Pinckney Wolfe who settled in the area around the year 1870. He also built a mill here. The community’s first name was Wolfe’s Mill but it was changed when the city was granted a post office in 1882 to what it is today. The population of Wolfe City was 1,412 residents as of the 2010 census. Wolfe City’s public education is being served by the Wolfe City Independent School District. The city’s total area is 1.5 square miles according to the U.S Bureau, more than seven percent of the area is water.
