Woodsboro is a town situated in Refugio County in Texas. The town itself was platted by some northern developers in 1906. Later that year, the St. Louis, Brownsville and Mexico Railroad arrived in the area. During the next year, a two-story hotel was built in the town and a post office was opened in the hotel because it was convenient. The town was named for Captain Tobias D. Wood who sold his ranch to the developers. As stated by the U.S Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.8 square miles. The city’s public education system is being provided by the Woodsboro Independent School District.
