Woodson is a town situated in Throckmorton County in Texas. The town’s post office was established in 1905, and the town is the second largest in the county. The area where Woodson’s present location is, was originally settled in 1875 by John O. Wood, and Henry McClintick. John’s son, O.J. Wood had a crucial role in the shaping of the community. The town used to be called Wood and Son for John and his son, but it was later merged and became Woodson. The public education system of the area is being provided by the Woodson Independent School District. The town has a total area of 0.6 square miles and all of it is land.
