Woodway is a city situated in McLennan County in Texas. The city of Woodway was initially established by a Confederate veteran in 1865. The town itself was named after the Citizens’ Council in the early 1950s. The town’s population was recorded in the 1960s at around 1,244 residents but, ever since the population was growing and growing reaching its current number of an estimated 8,967 residents. The city has a total area of 6.6 square miles according to the U.S Bureau and all of it is land. The city of Woodway’s public education system is being served by the Midway Independent School District.
