Wrightsboro is an unincorporated coterie situated in Gonzales County in Texas. The city was named after an early settler called L.C. Wright in 1851. The post office opened in 1869 and was written Wrightsborough but the name was changed to Wrightsboro in the 1870s. In the 1880s, there were around 70 residents living in the community, the town’s reported high of the population was in the 1920s when there were one hundred residents. As of the year 2000, according to the Handbook of Texas, the community has a total population of around 76 people. Even though the community is unincorporated, the post office still operates to this day. The public education system of the town is distributed by the Gonzales Independent School District.
