Avoca Coffee Roasters is an “artisanal roaster” located in the historic Near Southside neighborhood of Fort Worth, Texas. The name came from a Gaelic word that means “great mouth” They roast delectable blends and single origin coffee that you can purchase at any of their coffee shops. They sell Brewed Coffee Espresso and Espresso Drinks, Whole Bean Coffee, Pastries, Cakes, and Assorted Small Bites. They also sell their own “AVOCA Swag” and Coffee Brewing equipment. The place has cozy atmosphere, various seating with plenty of options. The coffee are truly spectacular! They have a “good selection of tea and coffee” like their mocha, it’s strong but not bitter, sweet but not as sweet as a candy. Avoca Coffee Roasters is included in Kim’s 7 Great Take Out Deals in Fort Worth During Covid-19. Even without a pandemic, they’re still worth checking out!

For the owners of Fort Brewery & Pizza, pizzas and beers are two of the best things that bring people together. This is especially true when both are taken together. Thus, it’s important for the owners of the brewery and restaurant to honor their family’s legacy in helping build the Fort Worth community. According to the company’s website, they hope the brewery becomes “an inviting place for the whole community”. With a beer named after a family ancestor and said to be the "first baby born in Fort Worth", the company takes their mission to heart. The brewery actually comes in the heels of two other breweries which occupied its premises. The company changed hands in March 2018, and reopened under its new name in June. They currently serve six beers on tap and a selection of wines from Kent & Co. And then there's the delicious pizza, of course.

Hot Damn Tamales offers a great selection of tamales, crawfish, wild mushrooms & goat cheese.  "Stick with the classics" or go for something more adventurous... but "still reliably delicious!"  They have the usual pork or chicken or try out the Spinach Feta Olive, Red Bell Carrot Serrano, Cajun Crawfish, Beef Tenderloin, or the Wild Mushroom and Goat Cheese.  And if you can't get enough of cheese, try the Three-Cheese Queso, and the Pork Ancho.  If you are vegetarian, you can still enjoy Hot Damn Tamales' offerings as they have several options of vegan tamales.  Try their chips and salsa as well!  

Melt Ice Cream is an ice cream shop with a pretty big menu specializing in interesting flavors and a couple vegan/dairy free options. The flavor of the ice cream dominates and not the sugar and balances perfectly with the creaminess and texture of the product. The aesthetic of this shop is so pleasing! It's a cute little shop wedged in between other buildings. Parking is pretty accessible around this area too! Melt has been serving happy ice cream to the fine folks of Fort Worth since 2014 when the owner figured out what was missing from Fort Worth's eclectic Near Southside, it was “ice cream!” With her passion for bringing joy to people's lives, Melt opened its doors and the scoop slinging began.
