Boonpeng and David Fisher owns and manages the Fisher Family Farm and Ranch. The couple both grew up in an agriculturally-inclined environment. Boonpeng spent her young to adult years in the rice fields of Thailand while David grew up in a truck farm somewhere in East Texas. Since the 1800s, David's family has been farming in Van Zandt County. Today, with the couple managing the farm, they produce different fruits and vegetables. Of course, that's with a Thai influence, now that Boonpeng is there. Aside from delicious produce, the farm also raises Angus cows and Brangus cows. Jazbac Farm is a family-owned and operated produce farm that plants non-GMO seeds and uses organic practices. They sell commercially and at three farmers markets. On a 5.5-acre land in Lubbock, Texas, South Plains Food Bank, Inc. is a chemical-free urban farm growing all-natural vegetables and serving as a place to teach life skills and job skills to unprivileged teens.
