New Leaf Agriculture is a nonprofit social enterprise of MRC. They support refugee families through a community garden plot in Austin, Texas. Also, in early 2018, launched a commercial farm in nearby Elgin, Texas.  Watermelon radishes, turnips, spinach, kale, chard, cilantro, lettuce, cabbage, pink radishes, leeks, bok choy - these are just some of their seasonal produce. Help this organization "create 5,332 hours of fair-wage employment". With support from you, they "will continue connecting refugees to sustainable farming opportunities" while creating livelihood for refugees. You can also sign up for their CSA or Community Supported Agriculture program to enjoy eight weeks of vegetables from their farm.

Food for Thought Permaculture Gardens is one of the many Texas enterprises that are helping locals re-discover their relationship with nature and their natural food source. Not only do they specialize in heirloom produce, but they also help others learn the ropes of cultivating their own food by offering workshops on gardening, natural building, and food preservation. They help build a community with a keen awareness to the value of fresh, local produce, and community-supported agriculture, which is a healthier and more sustainable option. Urban Roots aims to provide the people of Austin with "another source of real food grown locally" 40 percent of their produce is donated to hunger relief organizations across the Greater Austin Area. They also have a farm internship program, where they teach the young people of Austin "about good food, and empower them to find their voice." The interns get hands-on training bb by preparing the fields, planting, weeding, and harvesting, along with leading farm tours and connecting with the community.

The farm, formerly known as Springdale Farm, is currently owned and operated by Glenn and Paula Foore. However, Eden East, the restaurant situated on the farm, is now under the management of Chef Sonya Coté and David Barrow. Originally established by the Foores in 2009, Springdale Farm boasted a beloved vegetable stand that was a favorite among East Austin locals. In 2013, Sonya and David introduced a restaurant on the farm, taking the farm-to-table concept to new heights. In early 2018, the Foores decided to sell the farm to a developer, leaving Sonya and David as the sole proprietors. Despite these changes, Eden East has maintained its farm stand and restaurant operations. They have also continued the popular farm tours initiated by the Foores. Located a mere 3 miles from downtown Austin, the farm remains a highly sought-after destination. When asked about the farm and restaurant's future in light of the upcoming development, David's eyes gleam with anticipation, suggesting exciting times ahead.
