The Brewtorium in Austin opened in March 2018 with the team of Chris, Whitney, Kristie, and Dave on board. Chris and Whitney, a husband and wife team and the founders of the brewery, had their first date at a pub and shared a deep love for craft beers. With Whitney as CEO and Chris as Head Brewer, they’ve taken in Executive Chef Dave to pair German-inspired food to go with German-style beers, the style preferred by Chris who’s of German ancestry. Restaurant-veteran Kristie, meanwhile, completes the group as General Manager. The Brewtorium has a spacious taproom and outdoor patio in N. Central Austin. Order their Tangerine Milkshake IPA and give support to Mother’s Milk Bank, which provides “life saving breast milk to the most fragile babies in need”. Humble Pint Brewing Co. is a family-owned and operated brewpub in Leander, Texas, serving craft beer and handmade pizzas! At Humble Pint Brewing, their goal is to brew and serve great craft beer in a welcoming, friendly taproom environment for superb guests.  Those aims should be at the top of any small independent brewery’s list of priorities! Humble Pint Brewing takes environmental concerns seriously.  They constantly work to improve their operation’s impact through recycled/upcycled use of brewing grain, methods for reduced water usage during equipment cleaning, investigation of solar options for powering the brewhouse and taproom, and analysis of possible alternate uses for other brewing byproducts, such as side-streaming brewery wastewater.

Founded in 2012, Pinthouse Pizza is a brewpub that offers a great selection of “delicious and unique handcrafted beers and pizzas.” They make their own hop-forward craft beers, brewed in-house, and also features a great selection of guest craft beers on its 45 taps. The menu is not only made up of its classic and specialty pizzas, it also offers its signature “Off the Map Pies” and an array of tasty salads, appetizers and desserts. They were named Austin’s Best Brewpub and Best Food & Beer Spot of 2013 and won a Great American Beer Festival. They also received Bronze Medal for its Blind Jake Porter in 2013, and a Bronze Medal for its Jaguar Shark Bourbon Barrel Age Stout in 2014.

Oddwood Ales is a small brewery and pub in East Austin that specialize on making American style wild ales, lagers and hoppy pale ales but also aim to fill the tap wall with the best representations of many beer types. They also have wine and food menu such as small thin crust bar pizza and other Italian fare. To complement this, they pulled together a list of Italian wines with the help from “Alex Bell of Aviary Wine & Kitchen.” Their space was designed as a cozy neighborhood pub. The place has ample parking options, large indoor seating with lots of fun video and arcade games. They also offer a fabulous happy hour where beers are $2 off and pizzas are $5.

The Thirsty Mule Winery is located inside a hillside and "it is easy to locate off the highway". The original owner of the property dug out a hillside and poured a concrete structure and covered it back up. The tasting bar is 4' under the earth. "It's a great diversion in Liberty Hill". They have "live music every week and the wine is wonderful". Visit "it to fully understand not only the setting, but the winery tasting area complete with a gift shop, and wood-fired pizza". Have a taste of the "Chardonnay made from California grapes" that "tastes surprisingly sharp and 'raw'" or the "Pinot Blanc" which is "fruit forward at first but has a dry finish". You can also taste the "Cabernet" which has "hints of bell pepper both on the nose and by taste".
