Smart Growth Farms is the only livestock farmer in the San Antonio area that raises pastured lamb, chicken & pork. First established in 2019, this family-owned farm in San Antonio, Texas is working towards its goal of being able to rehabilitate its land through regenerative agriculture practices and become a full-time on-farm by 2027 with the support of the San Antonio Metro. Also, the focus on these three specific meat sources allows the owners to help regenerate and improve the quality of their grazing fields. Their growing flock of grass-fed St. Croix sheep is rotationally grazed to ensure that both their livestock and grazing fields are well taken care of.

KR Cattle Co and Farms has pasture-raised, non-GMO eggs from chicken, duck, quail and guinea.  Grass-fed beef, chicken and fresh produce are available as well! Young McDonald Farm, which is located in Seguin, Texas, is a small family farm that offers many different products like pasture-raised chicken, homemade barbecue sauce, cheese, yogurt, raspberry chipotle jams, pear butter, pickle relish, and sauerkraut. They are always present in nearby local farmers and artisan markets, like at the Garden Ridge market Days in Garden Ridge, Texas, and the Cibolo Grange Farmers Market along Main Street in Cibolo, Texas. If you visit the farm, you'll get the chance to see the cows and chickens happily living here.

In just four miles north of Kingsbury, lies the Flintrock Hill Farm. Jackie and Fred manage the farm today. In 1999, they built several hydroponic greenhouses to deal with the farm's lack of water supply. Since there is not a lot of surface water in the area and the water price continuously rises, they have both decided to grow plants in hydroponic systems instead. It has been a success since them. The farm sells strawberries, tomatoes, kale, arugula, swiss chard, spinach, kohlrabi, beets, green beans, squash, and more. You can spot them at SFC Sunset Farmers Market daily or Cedar Park Farmers Market during high season.

Mesquite Field Farm is a small off-grid cottage farm located South East of San Antonio. The owners of this farm are "the most wonderful people you will ever meet who truly have a passion for helping others learn about farming and ranching, especially veterans". The owners "have been a true blessing to so many!" They produce rotationally grazed grass-fed beef. They also do not utilize chemicals on their cattle, or the farm for that matter, nor do they feed them grain but their cattle eat grass. And, "they have the best of the best beef". "The ground meat is delicious, it's perfect for burger patties!"  

Green Hills Poultry, LLC is located near D'Hanis, Texas, about 40 miles west of San Antonio. They raise pastured poultry and specialize in slower growing breeds that produce a unique taste.
