Wylderose Farm is a garden and orchard built on the principles of organic gardening. The owner was a former speech therapist. Their property started with a barn, a well, and a pole barn. From small beginnings, it became fruitful. Their fruit orchard includes peach, crabapple, plum, and fig trees. Their fruit garden has blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries. The vegetable garden contains tomatoes, squash, onions, corn, potatoes, English peas, sugar snap peas, beans, carrots, radishes, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, eggplant, peppers, and many herbs. You can find their produce for sale at local Farmers' Markets such as the Bellville Farmers Market and by direct subscriptions. Comanche Oaks is one of the first organic growers in Texas that the state has certified, Comanche Oaks continues to provide organic produce today! The history of the farm dates back to 1987 when the farmer, Mr. Caldwell, sat beneath giant oak trees. Back then, his thoughts were only about the name he'll choose for the flourishing garden he is building. Today, happy customers say that they enjoy the herbs and vegetables from the farm. Some of the crowd favorites from the farm are bee pollen, fresh chamomile, Brussel sprouts, tomatoes, and moringa oil. Their customers are also generally happy with the farmers' disposition. Neal’s Berry Farm in Waller, TX is a working farm. It features a “U-Pick” (pick your own fruits and vegetables) activity for the whole family. The farm opened in 2009 in Spring, TX. However, they moved to its present location starting in 2018. The kids will love walking up and down the farm’s rows of thorn-less berries and figs - the farm's main crops - to fill their own baskets. They also have some vegetables and zinnias available for U-Pick. The farm has secondary crops of peaches, nectarines, and other orchard fruits and vegetables but these are pre-picked and only available for sale at their farm stand located within the property. McGeary Family Farm is a sustainable,  grass-based farm run by Mike and Judith McGeary. We raise our animals as close to their natural state as possible, which makes them healthier and happier. We work hard to improve the soil and increase the diversity of our plants, and provide natural supplements. The result is a healthy environment, healthy animals, and nutritious food. Our sheep and cattle graze on pesticide-free and herbicide-free pastures, with organically-grown alfalfa hay as a treat. Our animals are never fed any grain, so their meat is low in fat, yet high in Omega-3, CLA, Vitamin E, and other important nutrients. We also have a small orchard with plums, pomegranates, pears, figs, and grapes, all organically managed.  We also seasonally have vegetables and melons from our garden.  We are not certified organic, but use all organic practices and inputs.
