Flat Creek Estate created a unique winery oasis in downtown Marble Falls. "The grounds and building are immaculate". The Cherry Laurel was established in 1990 by two best friends, Bonnie and Linda, after they transformed a dilapidated house into a restaurant that provided homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts, and “a casual and unique dining experience” to the citizens of Athens, Texas.  Then in 1997, a beloved local bakery owner passed the reins to Bonnie and Linda, giving rise to The Cherry Laurel Bakery, especially after they perfected their amazing Butterum cake.  Now the Cherry Laurel Bakery, Café and Catering, they serve tasty salads, soups, sandwiches, baked potatoes, wraps and sandwiches, as well as breads, cinnamon rolls, pies and other pastries. And of course, their decadent and beautifully decorated cakes that can be ordered for any and every occasion.
