Sealy is a city in Austin County in southeastern Texas, United States. It has a population of 6019 according to the last census. It was created in 1879 when it became a separate entity from the city of san Felipe, Texas. Sealy gets its name after business tycoon and majority stock holder of the GCSF RR, George Sealy of Galvesto. The city has a median income of $40.000 per family and its mostly famous for the athletes that were born or grew up in it. These include: Eric Dickerson, Pro Football Hall of Fame running back and Ricky Seals-Jones, current NFL tight end for the Cleveland Browns.
