Deep Ellum Brewing Co. has many achievements since it sold its first beer keg in November 11, 2011. It is currently the largest independent North Texas brewery, and Dallas’ first craft brewery. Much like the historic and culturally-significant neighborhood for which it is named, the brewery embodies the “bold, fearless, and unapologetic” spirit that enabled the area to rise and “to refuse to die”. Since the taproom’s opening at 2823 St. Louis Street, the brewery has added a second taproom location in Fort Worth. The Funkytown Fermatorium opened in 2018 at 611 University Drive.
