If you're looking for a “laid back atmosphere with stellar in-house craft beer” then this is the spot. It’s fun, colorful and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It is definitely a great place to hang out with friends and family! They have live music on Thursday-Saturday and they occasionally have a food truck outside, but you can also bring outside food of your own into the brewery.

Ingenious Brewing Company

Craft Brewery in Humble - 43.28 mi

Ingenious Brewing Company is by Mike Broderick, its head brewer, and Justin Gyorfi, urologist by profession. The brewery specializes in “small batch beers” that “diverge from traditional norms”. With 24 taps that tend to be “outside-the-box”, the brewery releases beers that “look awesome on an Instagram feed”. If demand is any indication, the beers are delicious, too. Less than a year from their first anniversary, the brewery is barely able to keep up with the demand and is eyeing to open a second location. The brewery specializes in “tart fruited sours, pastry stouts, hop-loaded IPAs, and milkshake IPAs”. Enjoy them at the 2,000 square meter air-conditioned taproom, possibly including the “colorful” Smarty Stone beers. This line of beers took inspiration from the colors of Marvel’s Infinity Stones. You’ll have to come often, though, since they rotate beers often. You might even see a favorite making a comeback.

Back Pew Brewing

Craft Brewery in Porter - 43.38 mi

Bobby Harl established his craft brewery in 2015 inside an old church building and named it Back Pew Brewing. The 14-acre property the church sits on houses a taproom appropriately named “The Sanctuary”. With a large selection of brew creations, the so-called Houston prodigal son Harl offers his guests a choice between his Saints or Sinners line-up. The Saint beers are identifiable with their mostly white labels and described as “more traditional, ‘sessionable’ beers with lower ABVs”. The Sinners line, meanwhile, is denoted with mostly black labels, tap handles, or cans, and consist of “more unorthodox and less common ‘big’ beers”. These beers have higher ABVs, and therefore, are “more challenging”. The taproom is open Thursdays to Sundays, with food trucks available on Saturdays. Guests are welcome to bring outside food. Brigadoon Brewery & Brew School

The Brigadoon Brewery & Brew School attempts to recreate the "Scottish Renaissance brewpub". Located on the grounds of the Texas Renaissance Festival, it allows guests to step back in time and see "period specific" brewing equipment and techniques. Opened in 2008, the brewery uses modern equipment, too, but they try to remain an authentic and “unique living history demonstration” of techniques used during the Renaissance period. Each year, at festival time from October to November, the team dons authentic period costumes to serve their beers. Galveston Bay Beer Company

Established in 2014, the Galveston Bay Beer Company is Galveston County’s largest brewery. At the time, it was also one of the first in the area. The interesting thing about the brewery besides its beers is its commitment to preserving Galveston County’s rich beer brewing history, which dates back to 1895. The company has artifacts related to the craft of beer brewing from the past 120 years. Their air-conditioned taproom at Dickinson is open daily. With at least 12 beers to choose from, some are exclusive to the taproom only. The owners of Fetching Lab Brewery are Brett Bray and Theresa Hutchings, but everyone knows that Bella is both mascot and CEO. Brett was a real-life NASA scientist while Theresa worked as quality assurance lead at one of world’s largest airplane manufacturers. According to Brett and Theresa, we can’t show Bella a ball or she’ll ask you to play “fetch” the whole day long. You see, Bella’s a Yellow Lab, and pretty much runs the whole place. She even gets to choose the pooch that’s featured in Fetching Lab’s lineup of delicious beers. Fetching Lab first started creating their beers in Alvin, Texas and sold their first kegs in 2015. City Acre Brewing Co.

Craft Brewery in Houston - 48.69 mi

Just 10 minutes north of downtown Houston, the City Acre Brewing finally opened in 2016 and Houston fell in love. The four-year delay did the owners a favor. They used the place as an events venue while they completed their Texas permits. Meanwhile, the plants and trees in the area had time to grow, and the brewpub had time to perfect its beers and recipes. When they finally opened, the raised vegetable gardens became a source for the seasonal farm-to-table menu. “I found the setting enchanting,” says one review, “(and) gardeners will enjoy checking out (the garden).” With Adirondack chairs and picnic tables scattered about, “it was quite easy to spend a few hours enjoying the blossoming gardens,” says another.
