Specializing in homemade craft beer, locally sourced food, and espresso bar, Pint & Plow Brewing Company is a craft brewery, coffee bar and restaurant that was founded by “two Kerrville brothers and a craft beer genius.” The common thread was a belief in the power of craft beer and good food to create community. They develop the community by connecting people, place, and history through beer and food crafted from real ingredients. Pint & Plow Brewing is the “first and only craft brewery in Kerrville,” creating a new industry and gathering place of which people in the community can be proud. It is a family friendly place and pets on a leash are welcome on their outdoor patio.They are hoping to inspire positive growth in their hometown, and to help develop a sense of place for those who live in the community.

Located in Kerrville, Basement Brewers of Texas is one of the newest craft breweries in Texas that offers rapidly rotating “small batch beers” brewed in an old 1947 produce company warehouse’s basement.They also have a few “guest taps mainly from Texas, ciders, variety of wines and non-alcoholic beverages.” Basement Brewers of Texas is a solid hangout spot with quiet neighborhood setting that makes for a real kick back type of ambiance. The outdoors offer a lighted, covered patio and large backyard area that is kid and leashed-pet friendly. Outside food is welcome but you can also order from their delivery menus.

Kinematic Brewing is a “locally owned and operated nano-brewery” with a tap room/bottle shop located in the Texas hill country. The company started out of an all consuming passion to not only brew great beer, but to drink great beer. It is all about quality, community and above all else, passion. Their goal is to produce “hand crafted artisan beers” with a deep respect for the land upon which the brewery was founded. This craft brewery serves pale ale, IPA, a rye saison and amber saison, a dubbel, stout, and they also offer some oak aged beers. Bandera Ale Project, or Bandera Brewery, is a “small-batch craft brewery”. Opened in November 2017, it currently offers about a dozen brews at the taproom. Specialties include the Black Pepper Saison, Honey Brown Ale, and Pineapple Cider (created in collaboration with Austin Eastciders). Combining old and new world brewing techniques, they focus on producing “high quality seasonal ales’. Their creations are currently just available at the taproom and in select brewpubs in Bandera, New Braunfels, and San Antonio. Established by Dr. Jim and Carlie Baroffio, this artisanal brewery is popular with its patrons. Here are some reviews:

Opened in 1994, Fredericksburg Brewing Company is unique in its position as Texas’ oldest brewpub. Located in historic downtown Fredericksburg along Main Street, the company is equally unique in its offer of a combination brewery with dining capabilities, a “biergarten”, and “Bed & Brew” facilities. The company makes use of a well-restored two-storey 1890s era building to house all these offerings. The Bed & Brew, just like a bed and breakfast, gives guests a chance to experience a stay at one of twelve rooms available from the brewery. Too drunk to get home? Just proceed to the second floor! You don’t get breakfast, but you do get a pint for each night’s stay! If that doesn’t convince you to give them a try, perhaps their award-winning beers will.

Altstadt Brewery is an authentic, German-style brewery guided by the German Purity Law of 1516 and uses only four premium ingredients – hops, malt, yeast imported from Germany, and artesian spring water – to create award-winning beers including Altbier, Kölsch, and Lager. Established in 2014 by the Scripps family, they first released their lineup of year-round beers in 2017. In October 2018, the Fredericksburg-based brewery opened their authentic 120-acre Old World German-style destination brewery. Modeled after a German castle, it features a German-style biergarten with several seating areas, a tasting room, an event center for special events, and a restaurant. The biergarten features live music during pub hours. The brewery also conducts free tours at its brewing facilities where visitors can go behind the scenes to learn about the German brewing process, and catch a glimpse of their imported state-of-the-art German equipment.
