The Plains Brewing Company

Craft Brewery in Lubbock - 28.18 mi

The Plains Brewing Company serves only a few types of beers but the ones they do are excellent beers. Right now, there’s just an Amber, an IPA, and a Stout – three different brews. This small “hyper-local” brewery plans on working the Lubbock area for now, and their taproom is just open every Saturday from 2pm to 9pm. However, there’s nothing plain about brewery. In fact, they’re proud of the no-frills, “nothing fancy” tag. What they are proud of is their “just plain good beer”, which is really what a brewery should be all about. As with most breweries, Mickey Minter started as a home brewer. After many years working at an oilrig, he and wife Debbie finally decided to open the brewery. In 2015, they started commercial operations. Today, they have their beers in taps at their taproom, at other local businesses, and in local supermarkets.

The Brewery LBK

Craft Brewery in Lubbock - 35.47 mi

Chef Cameron West and business partners Mike Nghiem and Brandon Wright, the brewery’s head brewer, established The Brewery LBK. Located at the historic Pioneer building in the heart of downtown Lubbock, the brewery is the latest addition to the West Family Hospitality Group, which also includes The West Table Kitchen & Bar and The Coffee Shop. Taking on a “chef-driven mentality”, the brewery features local ingredients in their brews. The Honey Blonde Ale, for example, incorporates cotton blossom honey sourced from a nearby orchard. The brewery even has a version of Lubbock’s popular signature Chilton cocktail that they call the Chilton Witbier. The two beers form part of a lineup of about 15 craft beers developed since the brewery’s opening in 2018.

Triple J’s Chop House & Brew Pub

Craft Brewery in Lubbock - 35.93 mi

Triple J’s Chophouse & Brew Pub can trace its roots back to 1978. The former Bigham’s Bar-B-Q restaurant has operated in Lubbock since then. As fate would have it, in 2006, a brewery closed down in the area, and an opportunity arose for the restaurant to acquire the facility. By August 2006, Triple J opened as the brewpub it is today. Triple J serves up an affordable menu including wood-fired pizza, steaks, and the best burgers in town. For pairing, there is an excellent selection of more than a dozen housed brewed craft beers, with about six available at given time. There’s also a selection of wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages. Check their website or Facebook page for upcoming events and scheduled live entertainment.
